Recap
This was our first real weekend home since the wedding and honeymoon. And I can’t say enough how great it feels to be returning to a normal life.
A life where, on Friday night, we took the dog for a long walk. Where we saw the neighborhood kids dressed up for Halloween. Where we let SoMi play with her new friend, Chewie, while we chatted with owners Eric and Kelly. Where we had take-out while watching a new show, Crash (verdict is still out regarding whether we really like it or not).
A life where, on Saturday, Sweets went to play golf with his father and brother. Where I took SoMi on a playdate with her pal, Gigi, while I spent some time with Gigi’s mom, Kris. Where I spent the afternoon making a stuffed mushrooms recipe from one of our new cookbooks. Where we spent the evening wrapped up in laughter and great times with our dear friends (and have now decided to have these rotating pot-lucks more frequently – we’re calling them Stovetop Buffets).
A life where, on Sunday, I spent the morning working at the gym. Where my gym pals wanted the full scoop on the wedding (which now seems like it was ages ago). Where Sweets spent the morning finishing up all the organizing we needed to do at home. Where we spent the afternoon watching football and taking the dog for a walk in the unseasonably warm November air. Where Baby Z and her mamas came over for an impromptu dinner. Where I wrote a few thank you notes (the list – it’s so long!!!).
A life where we feel comfortable. Happy. Loved. Man, it’s good to be home. How’d you spend your weekend?!?
PS – My Friday post? Was a hit. I’m working out the details, but keep your eyes peeled for BlogSecret. I’ll share more sometime this week!

Sounds like an awesome relaxing weekend. It was pretty warm here, too, and we definately took advantage of the weather.

Sounds like your back to normal life is just excellent! Our weekend wasn’t so normal, but everyone is better now and we did end up having some fun, in the midst of all the house work we did.
I think J is meeting up with you today to give you the pres. Let’s make plans for you to visit us up here in the great white north!

That sounds like an amazing time! Are there SoMi pictures around here? I have a bit of a post-wedding freak out this weekend, honestly lol
I’m trying to relax into the normal, but it’s taking more than I thought it would. If you have any secrets (though I’m betting rewarding employment is one of them) please share! =)

Your weekend? Is EXACTLY what I want someday. (Like today, but you know, I don’t think I’ll have a man by Friday!)

Ah the simple things that make a good weekend great.

Sounds like family life : ) Glad you had such a relaxed time.
You’ll have to write more as you use all of your new kitchen stuff. You have such fun new toys, I bet they certainly will be worthy of stories as they get used.
Happy Monday

That sounds like a lovely weekend! My biggest weekend adventure/nightmare was my shower issue, which has fortunately been resolved. I hear you on checking water pressure with every place I look at.

Sounds like a great weekend. I wish I had weekend stories that didn’t involve whiskey and blacking out.

Sounds like a great normal weekend! Sometimes we all knock normal, but it has it’s pluses.

I love the after-the-wedding domestic bliss! It lasts forever :) (if you nurture it a bit)
November 4th, 2008 at 4:53 am
I would like to have that kind of normal any day. :)
I spent my weekend taking care of my sick boyfriend. But I did manage to do a little bit of shopping for some new fall clothing items!

Speaking of SoMi….
When I was in Chicago, I discovered the new thing for city dogs is the leash with the doggie bag dispenser on the end. I had never seen these before. Poor Tzeitel….she is SO suburban now.
