Meant
This weekend wasn’t meant to be cold. To feel like fall. I wasn’t meant to dress in layers. And fleece.
This weekend, I didn’t mean to walk the dog 3 miles. Show up unannounced at a friend’s house. Ring the bell at an early morning hour. This weekend, I didn’t mean to run an additional 4 miles on top of the 3 miles walked. All in the same morning.
This weekend, we didn’t mean to add more paint options to our living room wall. Or to go dark with our color options. And definitely didn’t mean to like them. We didn’t mean to still be undecided after much discussion.
This weekend, we didn’t mean to eat Korean food. Drink Korean beer. Jump into more serious discussions about our 2010 vacation plans when we’re still coming down from our 2009 adventure.
This weekend, we didn’t mean to bike into a wind storm. Or watch a cyclist get hit by a car. We didn’t mean to spend the whole morning at the triathlon. Nor did we mean to skip brunch with good friends.
This weekend, I didn’t mean to feel put on the spot about physical photos from our vacation (or lack thereof). Nor did I mean to feel defensive about not having time to participate in an upcoming event. I didn’t mean to be so spicy with my response. I didn’t mean to feel anxious about family.
This weekend, I didn’t mean to do or feel a lot of things. But, I did. And now I’m tired.

this put me in a confusing state, so i can only imagine what you may be feeling, having a weekend like this. some things were so good, and then some, so NOT good.

Oy, I’ve had those weekends. Hope Labor Day provides you some rest. :)

I meant to do everything I did, and I’m STILL tired!

Other than the cyclist getting hit and the family anxiety, were all the other spontaneous activities good, or were they uncomfortable?

Well if it makes you feel any better: I didn’t mean to find out on Friday afternoon that I have strep throat and possibly vitamin issues or thyroid problems. I didn’t mean to cancel three plans with friends as a result of the stupid strep throat. Nor did I mean to watch 6 movies, take 3 naps, and read 1.5 books. I also didn’t mean to not be able to attend the Health Care Reform Town Hall meeting last night either because I wasn’t supposed to be taking a nap because I wasn’t supposed to be sick.
Hopefully your work week isn’t too hectic so you can get some rest this week. And sometimes our responses come off spicy but it’s only because we’re caught at a bad time/are sleepy/unsure of how to please everyone/or just need a time-out for ourselves.
Sending you a big Monday morning hug!

I hope that you both intend to have a thorough soak in the tub to recover from all of this. I shot a wedding with a bride who was a dead ringer for you, so you might not have known it but you also spent a weekend running around in prairie fields with me- in my mind at least =)

Sounds like a busy busy weekend. Sometimes you need a little ‘me’ time. Go find it ;)

I still think we all should have Mondays off just so we can recoup from the weekend.

I didn’t mean to drink so much Yeungling on Saturday night, but I did. Everything else I did, I completely intended to do and I loved every second of it. I am still slightly tired from it. I hope you and Sweets can rest up this week and have a fabulous up coming weekend.

This past week I DID mean to write you an e-mail. But didn’t. Damn work kept getting in the way.
This weekend we didn’t mean to drive 2 hours through traffic to Malibu to try a restaurant a friend recommended. And get so pissed at the dumb@$$es working there that we left after an hour of baking in the sun. http://www.yelp.com/biz/bob-morris-paradise-cove-beach-cafe-malibu#hrid:vGFT51YtTZjpAX7ilqAMRg/src:self
And we certainly didn’t mean to have french friend and artichokes as an impromptu dinner, but we did. Seems like we both had weekends of should and shouldn’t, did’s and didn’ts. ;)

Wow you seriously put on the fleece? that is hard core! Yeah this weekend I didn’t mean to spend a lot of money, but I did :)
August 31st, 2009 at 9:05 pm
Yikes! Was the cyclist OK?
Sometimes (OK, A LOT of times), I need a weekend to recover from the weekend.

Oh lady, there is nothing worse than feeling tired on a Monday. I hope the rest of your week is more restful.
