Help! The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble meeting its quotas. If you click on the purple box on their site, you help donate free food to abused and neglected animals. Without clicks, corporate sponsors will pull out, meaning the site isn’t funded to give to a good cause. (BTW, once you’re there, there are other worthy causes you can click-to-help!) You don’t even have to sign up or give any personal information. Just click. Please! {source: The Animal Rescue Site}
Do! The other day, Doniree asked an interesting question: What do you do? You know, the question asked whenever you meet someone new. And we all usually answer with what we do Monday through Friday during the day. But, our jobs are only a small part of who we are, and therefore are only a part of what we do. And so, what she was really asking is the complete question what do you do? It struck a chord with me. Because, a decade ago, I quit my job because my job was becoming my life. I traveled most of the week. I worked long and late hours. And the people I worked with, all they DID was WORK, too. And yet, I was so very certain that my life was not all about my work. In fact, work was really just a means for me to live life. A very full life. And so, I quit. And was lucky enough to have a few other opportunities roll my way. Today, I have found that balance between doing something I enjoy that also allows me to enjoy the other things in my life that I do. {source: doniree}
Golden! Yo, did you enter my giveaway? Do you even know about my giveaway? You best go read up. Because, kids, it’s a good one. And you’ve got the opportunity to enter more than once. And you get to make others feel good if you win. It’s the best giveaway going on right now. And yes, I’m biased. Now, go! {source: SoMi Speaks}

So it’s no secret I read your blog first every morning while I wait for my outlook to load & etc. The other thing I do? The animal rescue site & breast cancer sites for the exact reason you mention. I don’t think enough people know about them.
Have a great weekend!

I click every day too! Animan rescue is a cause near and dear to my heart. I think having a balance between work and life is so, so important. I could never have a job where I constantly worked from sun up to sun down. Thats not how I want to live my life. For me, I of course need to work to support myself but it is by no means my life. Great replays as always, Nilsa. Have a great weekend!

I like that “what do you DO” question, and I like your answer. Struggling between working for a living and living to work has been a big part of my married life so far! At this point, if someone asked what I “do” -- I would of course assume they mean job, but if I was feeling really ambitious, I would add in “husband, jewelry, church, photos, reality tv, and figuring out what exactly it is that I do!”
Also, I’ve been visiting the Hunger Site for years and was thrilled when they started making sub-categories! Have you been to http://www.freerice.com/index.php ? Your right answers to thematic questions donate grains of rice. I like it because it’s interactive, I learn, and sometimes feel smart (when I am getting the answers right, that is!).

Hmm seems like “what do you do?” should be a continuous temperature check we all take. Life is too short to be “doing” too much that doesn’t matter much to you.

Hey Girl- getting back to you about my schedule— needless to say it’s been a little hectic. My computer was down for about a week and now I’m happily back online via a dinosaur computer from 2002. Ak! Anyway, next week my schedule is a little jammed. Only free nights are Tuesday and Friday. The following week is much more open…

I love your weekly replay! And I clicked the button. And Doni’s question has really made me think about what I do, too.

It’s that balance that makes it all work. But finding that balance isn’t always easy. And I think it’s something that most people struggle with for a good portion of their lives. Having found that balance is a good thing. Some of us are getting closer to that each day.
