Loser! As we all know by now, Chicago lost the bid to host the 2016 Olympics. I had mixed feelings about becoming a host city and thus the announcement was bittersweet. Avitable came up with his top 10 reasons why Chicago lost the bid. Clever enough to include Rod Blagojevich and Sarah Palin as reasons why we lost, I gotta give him props. The list was hilarious. {source: Avitable}
Goodbye! Letting go, for many people, is a great challenge. Whether it’s saying goodbye to a loved one whose time has expired or letting go of a friendship that no longer makes sense. Humans intrinsically like to hold on. We don’t want to let go. And yet, there are so many times when relationships no longer make sense. Kate is one of my favorite bloggers because she really puts out there how she’s feeling. And she often beautifully weaves her thoughts together into a cohesive post. Oh, to be on the receiving end of this one, where she has let go. {source: New Life}
Disclosure! Many bloggers like to review products. Some review products we purchase on our own and happen to use at home. Others receive free products from manufacturers in the hopes of a positive review. And yet others are actually paid to review products (also supplied by the manufacturers). Finally, the Federal Trade Commission has ruled on product reviews. Bloggers must reveal whether they’ve gotten freebies or been paid to write reviews; otherwise they face fines of up to $16,000. I know some of you review products, so this will hopefully come as useful information! {source: Weblog Tools Collection}
That’s all from here for this week. My folks are visiting this weekend, so it’s going to be a bit crazy on my side. I may or may not still be recuperating come Monday. Have a great weekend and I’ll see you somewhere on the flip side!

I love your reviews because I get introduced to all kinds of wonderful blogs. And then I see MINE on there. I’m glad some of what I say resonates with you. And with others. It’s a slow learning process -- this letting go business.

Have a great weekend with your family! Hopefully the Cards can pull through the next game and we don’t send you the awful rain we’ve been having =)

The upcoming winter olympics will be held in Vancouver, and even though I’m almost 3 hours away in Seattle, part of me wants to just pack up and skip town during that time because the whole region is going to be crazy. Hotels in Seattle & Vancouver have been booked for years now, and traffic is going to be worse and I just don’t want to deal with. But another part of me wants to completely embrace it and drive up to Canada and spend the whole 2 weeks up there and be a part of it since it’ll be the closest I’ll get to going to the games. Guess I should get my passport renewed just in case…

Steven told me about the 16K fine thing. I kind of laughed because… I never get asked to review stuff!

Good luck with your family weekend! I’m feeling tired this weekend, so I got out of a couple of family obligations by telling each side of the family that I was doing something with the other side. Sometimes I’m sneaky like that.
